No Compromise
Who doesn't dream of that one person who has all the qualities on our checklists? That person who, for most of us,appears in dreams and fantasies but ends up being shrugged off because they are too good to be true. For others, they work with what they get, believing that maybe they were meant to be with that person they have even if it doesn't feel right. Well, what if I told you that there's more to this?
At the beginning of this year, I met a girl online and for three days we talked online and agreed to meet. To me, she had everything on my checklist. We met and things were okay for the first time. But after a few days, I started to notice changes. She grew distant and attributed it to the problems she faced personally. I gave her leeway hoping the days will pass. They didn't. Instead they grew worse. We didn't see each other for over a month because of her busy schedule. I kept wondering whether she was really the person once liked for she had changed a lot. I believed in my heart that I could make it work and I never gave up even though she unwillingly tried to drive me away with her aura.
After 2 months, I couldn't take it anymore and decided to leave. I wasn't sure but either way, I did it. I had given up on finding this one person that was meant for me. Then, a few months later, I met someone else. Honestly, Ive never felt this sublime in my life! The best part is that I didn't have to change anything about me because she took me for who I really am. No compromise. Sometimes I wonder how it is that we had never met before, with the way we fit in each others life so perfectly. I feel at home with her so much that we I share with her everything in my life: past and present. What's more is that she looks at me the same way no matter how dark and twisted my past was.
Believe me, not many people look at you the same way when you tell them about something you regret doing in your past,but she doesn't even blink at what she hears! Being with her has changed almost everything I've ever known and believed about love. Most of all, I've known that you don't have to try to fit into someone's life, that there is someone out there who was made just for you. Keep hoping!
