God is the Great Healer. He created our bodies and He can surely heal them.

The Bible is full of accounts of people being healed. There is the blind man who was healed near the Pool of Siloam (John 9:1-12), the healing the centurion’s servant (Matthew 8:5-13), Jesus healing the 10 lepers (Luke 17:11-17), even Jesus raising the daughter of Jairus from the dead! (Mark 5:21-43)

In my work in Christian colleges with online degrees I have taught many times on story of Jesus healing the paralytic man who was lowered through the roof to him (Mark 2:1-12). In this account, Jesus is teaching in a house. Some men bring a paralyzed man to be healed by Jesus, but they can’t get to him because the house is so full. So, they cut a hole in the roof and lower the man down. Jesus responds not only by healing the man, but forgiving his sins as well. It is a great example of how Jesus brings healing both to our spirits and our bodies.

Many people suffer from various ailments and long to be healed. Perhaps modern medicine has failed them, they don’t have access to the treatments they need, or the treatment itself is very difficult and painful. They long for healing, but don’t necessarily know how to ask.

Below are the 5 Steps to Healing:
If are suffering from sickness or a disability, I encourage you to follow these steps and ask God for healing.

1. Ask, "What do you need? or Where is there pain in your body?"
2. Listen to any special instructions God may want to give about how to pray.
3. Pray, and welcome the Holy Spirit’s presence and compassion to descend upon the client.
4. Command the healing, speaking directly to the body and laying your hand on the spot.
5. Have them test it out by doing something they could not do before.

If you are not healed right then, then pray a second and, if necessary, a third time. If the ailment still remains, then pray a blessing and ask God to continue to heal you as you go.

Many people have been healed following these 5 simple, faithful steps, but these are not magic words. God is not a genie to whom you can make your 3 wishes and He is compelled to grant them. You are asking God for help, for healing. God has, indeed, healed many people who have faithfully followed these steps, but there are those whom have not seen healing, at least not right away. God’s will is not always the same as our will. God may different timing for your healing or He may have another purpose for your sickness which is not yet fulfilled. But we trust that God can bring healing and that He will heal us within His time and according to His good will.
