Pre-requisite for First Aid Certification Course

The minimum age limit to apply for First  Aid Certification is 16 years. There are no pre-requisites for this unit of competency.

Enrolment Procedure

To apply for Senior First Aid Certificate online, you need to visit our website, fill in the required details, pay the fees through credit card or PayPal Account and get enrolled for the course. It is important that all the online activities must be completed prior to the course.

Duration and Cost

The duration of the certification is 7 hours, which includes a face to face interactive training session along with practical skill session. The cost of the certification is AUD 95.

Course Structure

The first aid course covers a broad range of topics that helps an individual to manage all emergency situations. It includes:
Treatment of unconscious casualty
Applying infection control procedures or methods
Managing bleeding, burns and scalds
Taking care of fractures, sprains and strains
Managing substances abuse
Asthma awareness management program
Providing initial aid for head injuries, choking and eye injuries
Managing chest pain, allergic reactions, and seizures (adults)
Taking care of uneven life threatening situations

Assessment

Written Test Evaluation: The written test is of multiple choice questions that carries maximum weightage (almost 80%). It is compulsory to clear this test before appearing for the next level.
Practical  Skill Evaluation: The practical skill test is used to check the hand-on skills of the candidates such as resuscitation skills, casualty management skills, etc. It also includes use of first aid kit.
