North Norfolk is the perfect place for a cottage spring break.  When you go to North Norfolk, you travel not just in space, but in time.  You go back to a kinder, nicer England, where people have time for you, and where you will feel truly welcome.

And it’s an emptier England. Norfolk is one of the largest counties geographically, but it’s also one of the least populated.  And North Norfolk, with its magical coastline, the tranquil Broads with their wonderful fishing and boating, the many secret hidden lanes and tiny old fashioned villages, is truly an undiscovered treasure.  It’s no wonder that HM The Queen has her favorite holiday home there, at Sandringham.

And if like the Queen you have dogs, what better than a beautiful, historical, comfortable and genuinely dog friendly cottage like the Old Forge at East Ruston, perfect for groups of from four to ten?  Or if there are just two of you, try the elegant and romantic Ollands Farm Barn Cottage.  Dogs up to four in number stay free at the Old Forge, and there is just a small additional cleaning charge if you want to bring more of your friends.
Each cottage specializes in looking after dogs and their owners.  Dogs get special maps for walks, their own beds, blankets, spare leads – even a welcome pack of home-made doggie biscuits.  And owners aren’t forgotten, they get a welcome pack too!

As spring evenings can be chilly, you can snuggle down in front of a wood burning stove and enjoy reading a good book, or just gazing into the flames.  (Dogs tend to be better at the flame gazing.)

With marvelous walks, empty beaches, gourmet pubs, magnificent real ale, fascinating historical buildings old fashioned seaside towns with terrific seafood, a spring break in North Norfolk is the perfect getaway to an earlier time when life in England was simply…nicer.
