The BMW 3 Series Goes Straight To The Top Of The Compact Executive Class

The latest BMW series has lot to live up to, as its forerunner has been the compact executive class leader since 2005. However, the old car had its flaws, and the latest version couldn’t have come soon enough after Audi A4 and Mercedes C-Class has been updated. Designers have worked hard to improve the BMW in every aspect, while there’s now a new car which will suit all tastes and budget. It has ES, ED and SE to Luxury, Modern and Sport trims. The latest 3 Series is bigger, more sophisticated with efficient engines. It’s the finest 3 Series yet.

The new BMW 3 series is exciting to drive with an outstanding engine line-up. The last 3 Series was a setting stone for driver appeal and the latest car is equally fun. It has strong grip and direct steering. The Standard Drive Performance Control lets you choose from Comfort, Sport and Sport+ modes. There are four and six cylinder engines available but the pick of the bunch is 2.0 litre diesel giving 181bhp. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard and an efficient eight-speed auto is optional.

The new BMW 3 Series boasts more space and refinement for all models. The last 3 Series had a confined cabin, so the latest car is bigger in every area. The interior now gives Audi A4 a run for its money when it comes to space. It has decent head and legroom at the back. The wind and road noise is kept at minimum as its cabin is much more refined. The BMW is known for its reliability as they are engineered solidly. The BMW 3 Series is a very safe car as all models get six airbags, ESB and tyre pressure monitoring. BMW Assist is also included in the package as it automatically calls the emergency services if the car had a serious accident.

The new BMW 3 Series has a bigger boot and now is a serious competitor to Audi A4 for space. The boot is much bigger at 480-litres. BMW doesn’t come cheap but it is for sure a solid investment. It is also well equipped as base models have air-con, alloy wheels and cruise control. If you opt for top of the range Luxury, you get metallic paint and dual-zone climate control. BMW retains at least 40 per cent of its value even after three years on the road. BMW’s Efficient Dynamics technology means it is much more fuel efficient and the CO2 emissions have reduced too. This makes the 3 Series one of the most economical cars.
