Tourism in Jammu and Kashmir(J&K)
Jammu and Kashmir lies on the north of India. It is one of the picturesque places in India. Due to its beauty it has a wide scope in tourism sector. Snow capped mountains, green landscapes, clear lakes, meadows, flower beds are some of its characteristics. Moreover State is also famous for religious tourism. Vaishno Devi and Shri Amarnath ji shrines are some of the most visited religious places in India.
Jammu Kashmir has two divisions, Jammu and Kashmir. There is no surpass the beauty of Kashmir and its famous from many centuries. Mughals who ruled India for so many years, has a special place for Kashmir. Mughals used to regularly visit the Kashmir in Summers and has built many monuments, Gardens, springs . Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Pahalgam, Verinag, Yusmarg are some of the famous places in Kashmir. Kashmir is also favourite destinations for those who are coming for honeymoon trip in Kashmir.
Even each place mentioned of Kashmir is to reckon itself. Mughal Gardens , Shikara ride in Dal Lake, Night stay in house boat will be etched in mind for years to come for those who visit the Kashmir. It is rightly called the heaven on this earth and is second to none.
Jammu division is also beautiful and as comparable as Kashmir. Only differce is that tourist facilities are not as developed as it is in Kashmir. Valley of Bhaderwah, beauty of Poonch and climate of patnitop is second to none. Bhaderwah is also called mini Kashmir.
Lastly, State is one of the leading states in terms of religious tourism. Millions of Mata Vaishno Devi devotees visit the shrine every year. It is located in Jammu division in Reasi district. People who are visiting the shrine also visit the Shiva cave at Shivkhori which is very near to the Vaishno Devi shrine. Shri Amarnath Ji shrine is located in the Kashmir division. Usally Shrine is open for yatra in the last week of june till shravan poornima. Lakhs of Pilgrims visit the Shrine from all parts of India.
