If you are travelling to another destination and you need to stop over in Thailand for a few hours, you will need a Thailand transit Visa to ensure you have no problems in-between your flights. Since the penalties for failure to present a valid visa are very high in Thailand, it may result in you paying a heavy fine or even the possibility of unnecessary deportation. The transit visa Thailand will save you from this problem. The transit visa varies from country to country but the application is almost the same.

Requirements of a transit visa Thailand:

The transit visa follows the same pattern as the other transit visa applications all around the world. You need to get an application form from online or from the visa application center and fill it with accurate information. Once you have filled the form you will need to collect the necessary documents.

After submitting the necessary documents, you will have to pay a fee of 1600 RS via a demand draft only, per entry. The transit visa Thailand is valid for a period of three months. The validity of the stay is not more than 30 days. Normally the processing period is about 3 working days. But if it is an emergency, you can get it within 24 hours. If you wish to stay longer, or extend your visa, you must file an application for permission from the Office of Immigration Bureau. However, the extension of the stay as well as the change of the visa relied solely on the decision of the office. You can check the status of your visa online or you can contact the visa application center. Once you receive the approval for your transit visa Thailand, you can either personally collect it from the center. All you have to do is, carry a proof of id, and visit the center. You can also have your visa couriered to your home address with an additional service charge of Rs. 200.
