There a few predicted steps for a individual to become a Licensed Professional Engineers. NCEES is a non-profit performing accreditation of Engineers based on their response to Professional Engineer Exam response.The main aim of the steps is to help student in the threshold of making a decision to clearly understand the process of getting PE Licensure. It also provides the various preliminary clearance and accreditation to acquire the PE Licensure.

The first step would be to get educated in an EAC/ABET accredited baccalaureate program in engineering. There are also other ways to get PE License by following the requirements stated by the Examining board. Engineering students plan to take the PE Exam during their third year of their Engineering while taking a Professional Engineer Exam Prep Course to speed up their learning schema.

The second step would be to apply for FE exam and passing to get the Board’s recognition of your knowledge of Fundamental of Engineering. Sometimes an Engineer-in-Training could also take this exam to clear the second level of PE Licensure process.

The third step would be to gain work experience for four years under a PE Licensed Engineer. Once having completed the four-years of experience the candidate is ready to take PE Exam.

The fourth step would be apply for  PE Exam after following the State based required approval and then they can register for the Exam with NCEES. The Professional Engineering Exam occurs twice in a year in the Spring and Fall seasons giving students sufficient time to prepare for the Exam.

The fifth step would be to take a review course or self-study course to get ready for PE Exam.

The sixth step would be to pass the PE Exam in flying colors and gaining the PE Licensure from NCEES. 

An Individual gains a PE License in six simple steps. After which it is a matter of renewing the license by meeting the basic requirements of holding the licensure.
