There is no secret in the fact that most of us women wish to have an ever increasing collection of jewelry that we can flaunt not only to look fabulous, but to also be the center of attention at special occasions. If you ask anybody what variety tops this list, it will be the undeniably dazzling diamonds. Yes, the love women have for diamonds is age old and even with time and many more alternatives; our love for these gems is as strong as ever.

A strange thing happens to me when I want to select diamond studded jewelry. I feel so awed by each piece that I simply cannot make up my mind about a particular one. I go with something in mind which gets blurred when I see so many awesome looking pieces. I tried out something recently that worked beautifully for me which I would love to share with you.

On a friend’s suggestion I tried making a piece of jewelry for myself with some sparkling diamonds. The effect was wonderful and all my initial apprehensions were put to rest once I started. If you have dreamt of a particular piece and know how you want it to look just go ahead and create it yourself instead of hopping from one store to the other. It worked for me and I am sure it will for you too.

Whether you opt for a pair of earrings, a ring or a pendant or all three pieces together, the pleasure you will derive is immense. Plus your diamond studded piece will look just the way you’ve always wanted. Start with an understanding of diamonds. After all they are the most sought after and expensive variety so you should pick them very carefully. Understand how cut, clarity, color and carat decide the look and price of these stones so that you pick only the right ones. Always buy from an authentic source and collect the certificate of authenticity.

If you want to complete your set with earrings, ring and pendant, be clear on the design and know how many stones you will need and in what shapes and sizes. Don’t worry about the time and detailing involved at this stage. It is necessary to make your jewelry look exquisite with the right stones.

Next you have to decide the metal you want for your diamonds. If you have a particular preference go for it or simply see what looks good with your design. White gold, yellow gold and platinum all complement the shimmering diamonds well.

After you have selected your stones and settings take them to a trusted jeweler who can get them set for you. Wait till you see your gorgeous beauties exactly the way you wished. You will experience both joy and pride when you see what you have been able to create. I know for I felt exactly this way.
