This year we have seen an increase in the choice of superior bathroom designs which follow a modern, luxurious and spa inspired style. However they are often quite expensive and so it is hard to get your dream bathroom on a budget. Yet achieving your dream bathroom could be easier than you think with the right planning and design.

Getting Past the Paper Stage

You have an idea in your head; the bathroom you are thinking of has a huge roll top bath in the centre of the room complimented by a feature wall where you have stunning cabinets with stylish basins. You've got it all planned and have started drawing it out on paper.

Of course the first step to any room design is to plan the layout of the space. Measuring the bathroom and placing it on paper gives you a clear idea of what you have to work with. From here you can start shopping around for your various bathroom items from your bath and shower to your bathroom cabinets.

Once you have a clear idea in your head and have measured all the items to ensure that they fit into your space without compromising the floor space available, it is time to put a budget in place.

Setting Your Budget

A budget isn't just a number you get from the top of your head. Your budget needs to be planned and you need a fixed figure which is your top amount which you can use to finish your bathroom off perfectly.

When setting your budget it is very important you remember to add all your storage options including affordable bathroom cabinets, accessories, blinds and towels. Accessories and smaller items can amount to a fortune and many people make the mistake of only budgeting for the larger items. This can leave you in a situation where you have an unfinished bathroom.

Finding a Contractor

Once you know what you want, you have a budget and you know where to find all your great bathroom items that will turn your dream into reality, you need to start looking for a contractor to carry out the work.

Now you've probably already blown your budget by choosing the bathroom items you want, your bathroom cabinets for modern bathrooms, your huge bath, walk in shower and stunning taps have eaten well into your budget, but your dream can't come true without a contractor.

Don't choose the cheapest quote without taking some things into consideration. You'll want to know what qualifications your contractor has, if they have the necessary liability insurance and you want to know if they are reliable and reputable.

Do a little online search of the company, you'll be amazed what you can find by reading through the forums; this is where you will find the truth about your contractor. Choose someone who is going to complete the job in the set time, who has the right insurance and qualifications and who also has a number of happy customers in your local area.

It is important that your budget covers a contractor, your stylish bathroom cabinets and accessories and all other luxury fixtures that will fill up your bathroom space. Staying within your budget means that you do not overspend and regret anything when creating your dream bathroom.
