Vauxhall Corsa VXR - A Dream Machine

The Vauxhall is a practical car, in the rear there's enough room for the occupants. Accessing the back seats in three door models is tricky though cabin storage is pretty useful. Loading lip is pretty low once you open the tailgate and the luggage space is almost 285 litres. By flat folding the rear bench, carrying capacity of the five-door version increases to 1100 litres and in three-door model it becomes 1050 litres. The Vauxhall Corsa engine is not fuel thirsty. It is a 94bhp 1.3 litre CDTi EcoFlex engine with start/stop technology. The Corsa engine returns 80.6mpg and it emits just 94g/km of CO2 which makes it road tax free.

Despite of its killer depreciation, Vauxhall is charging a high price whereas Ford Fiesta is cheaper than Corsa. For customer peace of mind, Vauxhall is offering a warranty of up to 100000 miles. Vauxhall Cors comes with a choice of three petrol and three diesel engines. Petrol engines are 1.0 litre with 64 bhp, 1.2 litre with 84bhp and 1.4 litre with 99bhp. Corsa VXR additionally offers a 1.6-litre with 189 bhp. Whereas Vauxhall diesel engines are 1.3 litre with 74bhp, 1.3 litre with 94bhp and 1.7 litre with 128bhp giving the average of 67.3 mpg. Electronic stability control is a standard for Ford Fiesta and VW Polo whereas it is expensive option on all versions of Vauxhall Corsa.

However, there is reliability as most of the bugs are removed and glitches have been fixed. In the crash test program of Euro NCAP, Vauxhall Corsa managed to secure five stars for the protection of adult occupants a , and for the children occupants three out of five, for pedestrian safety it secured three out of four. All models feature Electronic Brake-force Distribution, airbags for driver and passengers, Anti-lock Brake System, beams for side-impact and hosts of safety systems. On more expensive models, Electronic Stablity Programme (ESP) is available as standard.

Vauxhall Corsa is available in six models. The very basic models are Expression and S. Exclusive is the one which comes with better equipment like electric door mirrors, MP3 ready stereo. While the SE is even well-equipped than the rest as it adds alloy wheels, air-conditioning, automatic headlamps and wipers and cruise control. When it comes to the Sporty models, SXi comes with an interior and exterior styled as a race car, whereas the SRi have got all sporty looks but with bigger wheels and sports suspension. The Vauxhall Corsa is an incredibly easy car to drive in tight corners and in town. Its updated looks, interior trim and optional touch-screen satellite navigation do a good job of keeping it within reach.
