When you go on holidays to Glenorchy it is nice to explore the region so that you can see what it offers and enjoy the many natural features and magnificent views.  Many people love the outdoors and enjoy going on hiking expeditions along walking tracks in the area. These tracks have been especially made to lead to some of the many natural geographic features such as mountain valley views, rivers or waterfalls, lakes and fiords.

There are many opportunities to take photographs that will amaze and impress your friends when you get home. However, in some places it is better to go on a guided tour just to ensure you don’t get lost. Some tracks are not that well-defined and you might take a wrong turn or wander off it. Another good reason to have a guide is to organise transport back. Even though you were able to walk one way, to return the same way would be very tiring.

Besides, if you know you only have to walk one way, you can go further and so see more in the one trip. Then it is really nice to relax in a comfortable vehicle for the trip home to the base or accommodation. And if it is dark by then, you might see some of the nocturnal fauna of the region in the headlights of the vehicle.
You can go along the amazing routeburn track for a tramping adventure; this walking trail is considered to be one of the top eleven trails worldwide and goes through a world heritage status forest of ancient beech trees. It is formed from part of an old Maori trail that was followed to collect the popular greenstone in what is now Mount Aspiring National Park many years ago.

If you were wondering what to do in Queenstown, from golfing in Wanaka to visiting the Kiwi bird park or riding along a river in a Gondola – and of course, skiing in the winter time. But in the summer there are many walking tracks to explore and this is truly one of the best ways to see the region, even though 4WD tours are also part of the adventure.

So when you go for a holiday in New Zealand make sure you plan a few tours and some tramping adventures so that you can see up close just what the region has to offer. That spectacular scenery will never let you down.
